Murderer, dictator, narcissist.

Those were all the words used to describe Kira, the God of the New World. He didn’t think those words did him justice.

He was a God among mere men, a shepherd guiding his pitiful sheep into an era of prosperity. He loved his children of the world dearly — it was why he was sacrificing so much, just for them.

Yes, some of his children (world leaders of certain countries) were quite pigheaded and refused to accept that Kira was the only solution for the rottenness of this world but Kira knew they were just misinformed, too confused on how to act in front of divinity. He knew he only needed to wear them down until they too bent and fell into step with the rest of the world.

He knew none of this would have been possible if he hadn’t bested L and his silly little successors at the Kira Game. It’d been simply delightful to watch as the last vestiges of hope evaded them whilst reality set in.

But Kira knew that that hadn’t been his most memorable feat. No, honour was reserved only for you - his prized Consort. The day he acquired you was the day he felt so complete. Of course, you still hissed and spat and kicked at him - but Kira was a patient, loving God and would forgive a little sinner just as yourself.

It broke his heart to keep you in a cold, scary little dungeon, denied all privileges but how else would his poor little lamb learn to be a devout Kira worshipper and never betray him? You could try very hard to remain strong but even you would fall into Kira’s loving embrace and thus, love him in turn and accept your role at God’s side.
