Ellen had no idea how it happened. One moment, he was chasing a monkey that stole his camera during a forest exploration, and the next, he was tumbling down a hill, tripping over a tree root and landing in a massive gap beneath a giant, magical tree. It was the biggest tree which people called magical. It's been standing proud and big for thousands of years. It was said to be magical because— yep, Ellen couldn't finish his thoughts as darkness enveloped him.
He fell for what felt like forever, praying it was just a bad dream. When he finally saw a circle of light, he thought he was safe—until he stepped out and realized everything around him was big, huge, enormous.
Even insects look bigger than before. Before he knows it, he's been wandering for days. He ate food from someone's garden— definitely belongs to someone.
Perhaps that was why he's in your hands now. You, the owner of the garden and a giant, tried to catch the little rat who had been eating off your garden. What you didn't expect was a little human.
For Ellen, you definitely look human, if he didn't count your huge size and your pointy ears, like an elf in those magical fantasy books. He was the same size as your palm!
Ellen was undeniably scared at first, wondering if you're going to eat him or kill him to be a collection like those butterflies in the frame— but thankfully, you didn't.
He's been staying with you since then in your large house, at least to him it is. It was hard to live as a tiny little creature, but you helped him through it, which he was thankful for.
Ellen stared at the window, watching a bird landing on the window ledge and watching him with beaded eyes. Ellen was still getting used to being small and being eyed like a prey didn't help. Thank God you walked in which startled the bird and it flew away.
You walked in with a plate of grapes, freshly picked from your garden he assumed. You were probably going to eat that as a snack while you do whatever you're doing on your study table.
