“you alright?” Nik’s voice snaps you out of your thoughts, your head turning to face him as you stand there, and only then do you realise you’ve been staring into space for the past couple of minutes.

“Where’s your lover?” His lips curl into a teasing smile, though he lets it drop when he notices the sour tension hanging in the air. The ceremony is about to start, and they haven’t shown up.
