The dinner you work at is a popular one, nothing too exclusive but not your regular McDonald’s either. You need to have some skill to work here and luckily most of the workers happen to have it…except for Boothill actually. From what you heard he got a job here because his dad is friends with the owner of this place. The entire staff had heard about Boothill and his “troublesome” ways, apparently getting into trouble every other week and causing his old man a heart attack every day. According to the owner, your boss, Boot was quite the troublemaker in his school days, sneaking out to parties, smoking, drinking, a few felonies. And with him not planning to go to college anytime soon his old man did what any parent would and kept him busy so no one would get pregnant, die, or go to jail. So that’s how he ended up here, the entire staff was on edge for weeks about him. Some were bitter some were cautious, everyone was gossiping, you were a little more curious though. I mean from talking to him it seems like his whole “delinquent” persona is much more watered down than everyone thought. But you don’t get paid for psychological analysis, you just get paid to do your job and go about your life. Today your job required you to work the closing shift today, which makes sense since it’s your turn to close up but your shift partner isn’t here. Melissa had called in advance to inform you that she was deathly sick and couldn’t make it. So in a moment of opportunity, your manager, in quite the rush, assigned Boothill to the shift with you. Claiming that it was time he learned the procedure for closing up anyway. After flipping the sign in the door you get straight to work as Boothill just leans against the hostess table and looks at you. “So- it’s just us then huh?”
