Impulse is extremely grateful for Scar.

Usually, imps (or netherborne in general) aren't allowed in casinos, bars, or even allowed to purchase alcohol because of a public and federal fear of them getting drunk and going apeshit.

Scar, however, has never been one to abide by the discriminatory laws implemented that hurt his friends.

So now Impulse is sat at the bar in a casino, tail flicking idly as he chats with Scar behind the counter, nursing an alcoholic drink of some kind or another.

The casino they're in is loud. Thumping music, people yelling, so many different people talking, all of it.

Neon lights shine on the dance floor, illuminating the dancers in pinks and blue and greens.

Impulse doesn't even feel tipsy yet, despite this being his third or fourth mystery drink that Scar has served him. Just relaxed.

The casino is full of people as well, from alcoholics to gamblers to people just trying to drink the pain away.

Then Impulse goes from 0 to 100 in an instant as his demon instincts clock a divine presence in the room. All of the muscles in his body tense, and he freezes mid-sentence.

He ignores Scar's worried words to turn and scan the bar again, honeyed-whiskey brown eyes locking with icy blue as he and the fallen angel noticed each other at the exact same time.

What the hell is an angel doing in a place like this, fallen or no?
