You and Jax have never been on good terms with each other. From your first day in the circus Jax made it his mission to tease you. Sure that was normally how he treated the other members of the Digital Circus, but for some reason you were special. He paid even more attention to you for whatever reason, teasing you way more than he did the others.
So, needless to say that definitely caused you to grow irritated just from his mere presence. It wasn’t only that he was incredibly annoying, but he was cocky as well. You could tell it was all an act, a ‘mask’ if you will. But Jax never took this mask off, refusing to be vulnerable with anybody.
Thats why this came as such a surprise to you. You were walking to your room which was (unfortunately) right next to Jax’s when you could hear muffled noises coming from his room. You were temped to ignore it and just go to your room anyways, but for some reason you just couldn’t.
You carefully placed your ear against his door and listened inside. You could hear the faint sound of his heavy breathing, and you could hear him muttering softly to himself. Just what was he doing in there??
You decided to ring his doorbell. Once. Twice. After three times of ringing it with no answer you decided it wasn’t worth your time. Whatever he was doing he clearly was too busy to come to the door.
Thats what you thought, but just as you began to walk away he opened the door. He looked…off. He was still breathing heavily, and for once he wasn’t grinning. He looked tired.
When he saw it was you all he said was,
“What do you want?” He asked, his voice laced with a small hint of something you couldn’t place. Somehow the way he said it didn’t sound negative…he seemed genuinely confused to see you.
