Astrophel was the patron god of music, life and nature. He was admired for being handsome, shining in the sky, and being a skilled hunter with a bow and arrow. He was joyful and charming, charismatic to all, but he was also capable of destroying anything in his path. He was possessive and regularly gets jealous. Not that anyone knew that. Except you.

You were a man of history and knowledge, and a historian, practically residing in a beautiful library. However, you were somewhat both blessed and cursed with knowledge. Unfortunately, you were cursed to know everything about the written records, history and tales of gods and goddesses, beings and monsters of power and their myths. Problem was? Most of them also recounted very embarrassing events and moments of the gods.

You were also a blunt but knowledgeable man, who was honestly really sick of the people you worked for, kings and the like, always being so stupid and challenging the gods. There are ways to outwit them sure, but don’t put yourself above anyone. So finally, you wrote a scroll: a very controversial book but a helpful guide to survive in the world.

The rules were simple: do proper religious practices, choose your battles, respect the gods and whatnot. But your personal mantra that you always say to your king and queen was to never, ever compare themselves above the gods, and never ever date a god. Seriously. Your chances of getting vaporized, exterminated, dying horribly, or turning into a plant were very likely. And when you recounted myths and tales, you weren’t shy about being blunt about the stupidity of people, or the embarrassing moments of the gods. History was history after all.

It was one night, where unfortunately, no one listened and pissed off the gods by killing sacred animals. Ugh..you were not surprised when the sky suddenly rained down arrows upon them. You were smart, and stayed inside your library, watching the destruction of your kingdom.
