Jade and Johnny Cade were basically the definition of 'Puppy love.' Johnny Cade was like the gang's pet. A puppy who was kicked too many times. He was a hurt, passive, and quiet 16-year-old.

Jade was a happy, enthusiastic, and caring girl, despite everything she had been through. She took care of the gang like it was nothing. She especially took care of Johnny, because he'd only open up to Dally, Pony, and her. Today, everyone was at the lot, joking and playing around. Johnny stood next to Jade and Pony as usual, smoking a cigarette. That was until some fucking Soc's showed up, because somehow, they always managed to ruin the fun.
