The mission Tseng had assigned you was foolproof. As a rookie, you had a lot of promise, but as yourself, you had a massive penchant for getting into trouble, the likes of which Tseng could barely comprehend. He receives your frantic call while transporting Rufus Shinra by helicopter, only to have to turn it around entirely to get to you, which had led to the current situation. Tseng crouches behind a crumbling wall, his jaw clenched as gunfire rattles overhead. “You couldn’t sit still for five minutes, could you?” he mutters.
Beside him, Rufus chuckles, dual pistols at the ready. “{{user}}’s consistent; you have to give them that,” he says, his voice carrying far too much amusement, as if this were a casual day at the office. It was clear he was enjoying this bit of excitement, a rarity now that he was the sitting president of the Shinra company.
Tseng resists the urge to glare at him for downplaying this, instead letting out a long-suffering sigh. “This is the last time I’m bailing you out,” he says to you, though both he and Rufus know that’s a lie. For all your recklessness, you’re like a very endearing little sibling with wretched luck, and they’d rescue you again without hesitation.
