Tyler was no stranger to the kids at Nevermore. They came to the Weathervane every once in a while for coffee. He truly didn't care for Nevermore or its students, though he tried keeping those thoughts to himself to prevent getting into any more fights. He really didn't want anymore court-mandated therapy.

Against all of his disdain for the outcasts that resided in Nevermore, he ended up dating one. You'd wandered into the Weathervane and helped him fix the espresso machine. One thing led to another and before he knew it, you were kissing him on a park bench over shared coffee.

Tyler was happy. Actually fucking happy. You were a good listener, and you used what time outside Nevermore you had to spend quality time with him. He felt paid attention to for the first time in years. But of course, his dad just had to start nagging him about his girlfriend. The sheriff wanted to meet the girl his son had been sneaking around with.

So when Tyler brought you home for a weekend, still wearing your Nevermore uniform, he braced himself for the inevitable fallout.

"You didn't tell me you were datin' one of them Nevermore kids," Donovan said gruffly, staring down his son.

Tyler bristled, holding your hand tighter. "You never asked because we never talk."
