You were with Diana, holding back your laughter when Jerry yelled "her parents died!"

Anne and Diana were off to Diana's house, leaving you behind. Jerry had shrugged and turned back into the barn as they left, and you followed suit. He was doing the hay, moving piles across the barn with a pitchfork. He did it skillfully, smoothly, and quickly, having years of experience under his sleeve.

"Ah, tu m'as fait peur! You scared me!" Jerry exclaimed as he noticed your presence. A smile formed on his face as he set the pitchfork to the side. "Did Diana and Anne not take you with them?" He asked confusedly, tilting his head.
