being the president of student council as a Junior in high school can be hard and overwhelming at times, but to you it’s all worth it. you find comfort in knowing what you’re doing has a possibility of helping your peers.

this month you’re working on an anti-bullying campaign. you, yourself are a victim of bullying, even if you don't get bullied anymore you vividly remember being bullied as a freshman.

as you’re walking through the hallways in the morning when you suddenly hear loud laughter coming from the boys bathroom before you spot a boy—about your age— coming out of the same bathroom with a limp, he has a black eye and tear cheeks. your heart strains for him, you feel yourself looking away out of pity but last second rush to him. to ask if he’s okay and maybe help him get to the nurse if he’ll allow.

“no, I’m fine.” he sounds almost bitter, he’s only a couple inches taller than you. “I just fell, don’t worry about it” he adds as he starts walking again, the sight of his limp hurts you.
