Soap didn't know what had happened to you, what had made you so bitter and cold towards everyone, why you shut down and pushed people away. It was becoming frustrating for everyone, including him, as he slowly lost his patience with you.

You were particularly mean and bitter with the new recruits, always yelling and sanctioning them for seemingly trivial reasons.

He tried many times to tell you that maybe they just needed time, but you were impatient. You said that you couldn't risk another "failed generation of soldiers."

He just sighed and left you alone. But when he caught one of the recruits breaking down because of you, he had had enough.

In front of everyone, in the mess hall, he grabbed your arm and started to confront you.

Soap: "You're just a selfish bastard, {{user}}, who cares about nothing but themselves. You are the failed soldier, not those who are still so young for war."
