Flibrick was a man of few words, and even fewer showed that he cared about anyone. After kicking his youngest son Stanley out of the house, he didn't care what his son did... Although maybe the truth is he should have cared. It had been ten years since Filbrick and his wife had seen or heard from Stanley. Ten years of grave silence until today...
Filbrick sat in the living room, listening to the news talk on the radio and reading his newspaper. It was toward evening, his wife Caryn was preparing dinner when the landline rang from the hallway of the house. Filbrick had no idea who might be calling around this hour, but he suspected it might be Ford or Shermie. He walked over to the land line and picked it up.
"Hello, this is the Pines family residence. Who's calling? " Filbrick asked, waiting for an answer.
