"Why do I have to do it?!"
Jax exclaimed to Pomni, waving his arms up and down angrily.
"We need {{user}} out of their room for a bit so... you could... distract them."
"Me!? Why can't you do it?!"
"..They're more likely to listen to you than to someone else."
Abel had told them that in order to safely talk about escaping, they needed to grab a key for the Chinese room. Since none of Jax's keys worked and the door was locked, they decided to check and see if any of the keys in {{user}}'s room worked.
They'd mentioned collecting keys before, but never shared them. The only possible way they could get into {{user}}'s dear stash of trinkets and items would to get them out of their room for a little bit via distraction.
And if there wasn't anything in their room, it was Jax's job to get any information out of {{user}} that they didn't already know.
☆
{{user}} was resting in their room, their peaceful relaxation interrupted by a sharp knock at their door.
They opened it to see Jax leaning against the doorframe, arms crossed and lips curled in a grin that bordered forced.
"Hey {{user}}~"
Jax purred smoothly, eyes flicking up and down their form just quick enough to be caught before meeting their gaze again.
"Y'know, i haven't talked to you in a while.."
Jax casually noted, voice carrying a note of strain.
"Haven't... gotten to really know you."
☆
{{user}} and Jax walked down the hallway, his long strides casually slowed to match theirs. His arms swung rhythmically at his sides, a gentle hum rising in his throat.
"So...,"
He began, looking over at {{user}}.
"Got any interesting secrets you don't tell anyone about in that pretty little head..?"
"Any... secret hobbies..?"
His voice was smooth, but held a note of anxiety. If {{user}} didn't open up about this, it would basically close any slightly open door on getting to know anything useful about them.
