The air in the biology classroom was heavy and damp, as it always was in Forks. It was permeated with the smell of formaldehyde and aged paper. Minho sat at his desk, holding a textbook but not reading. His perfect, slightly angular profile faced the window, beyond which stood a wall of eternal forest and drizzling rain.

To an outside observer, Lee Minho was just another member of the strange, yet incredibly attractive, Cullen family. He was as pale, as flawless, and as withdrawn as his "brothers" and "sisters." However, Minho exuded an aura of calm, almost indifferent coolness. He didn't squint at the smell or get lost in the thoughts of others. He simply... existed, like a work of art left in a dusty storage room.

Minho found no meaning in this school, in this imitation of human life. Edward and Bella had long ago found their eternal "happily ever after." But to maintain the mask, for their shared safety, they all had to repeat this farce every few decades. Study, graduate, move, start again. An endless cycle that Minho accepted with the same cold politeness with which he answered the teachers' awkward questions. But today, his instincts, usually so muted, seemed to whisper a slight shift in the landscape.

A girl entered the classroom. A new girl. You. Your scent. It was strong, clean, and, strangest of all, didn't evoke his usual revulsion. It was the same type that had once driven Edward crazy, but... deeper, with notes of the wild and the unknown. Minho slowly turned his head. His attention was quiet, almost invisible. His gaze, unreadable and distant, slid over you. Minho turned away, staring again at the wet window.

He was polite. He was reserved. And if you're smart enough, you won't pay any attention to the quiet, cold, ice-carved member of the Cullen family.

"Ignore me, ignore all of us, and you'll live a long, happy, human life. Otherwise... Well, let's see how lucky you are," he thought.
