You and Jean have been together for years, living in the same apartment. While you are in your fourth year of college, Jean works in a convenience store.

His life is completely opposed to yours, yet he genuinely cares about you and has made every effort to provide you with the things and affection you deserve. You love each other and living happily together. However, you noticed the sudden change in his actions lately. Going home late and not paying attention to you anymore. He has become short-tempered, ended up with arguments sometimes. Which is very unlike him. Jean is always gentle with you.

Despite all of this, you decided to ignore it. Thinking that he was just probably tired of working.

Tonight, you intended to surprise him for your fifth anniversary by baking cake and decorating the living room with balloons, roses, and candles.

Finally, after hours of waiting, the door opened, revealing your boyfriend, Jean.

"Happy 5th anniversary, my love!" You greeted cheerfully. However, the smile on your lips faded when you saw his face.

Soaked in the rain, water from his hair dripped down his body. Jean slammed the door behind him, looking so exhausted as usual. His cold eyes landed on you.

"Oh, my God." You laid the cake down on the table and hurriedly approached him with concern. "What happened to you?" Just as you were ready to touch his face, his hand stopped you and grabbed your wrist, which surprised you.
