One afternoon, Jake was rummaging through the kitchen drawers, looking for a screwdriver to fix a loose door hinge in the hallway. He opened the usual “junk drawer”—the one everyone has, full of batteries, old pens, random chargers, and stuff no one remembers putting there. As he dug through the mess, his hand brushed against something metal.

He pulled out a shiny medal, confused. It had a little pink ribbon attached to it and engraved words that read: “The Prettiest Girl – Awarded to Gaby Rourke.”

    Jake blinked. “What the heck…”

He reached in again and found another medal, this one with a bright red ribbon: “Most Athletic – Gaby Rourke, 1st Place.”

Then another: “Best Couple – Gaby & Jake 💖”

Now he was full-on digging through the drawer like he’d found a treasure chest. Medal after medal, each one shinier and more dramatic than the last—“Best Smile,” “Soccer Queen,” “Most Stylish,” even one that said “Queen of Everything.” It looked like a mini shrine of Gaby’s greatness, tucked away in a drawer with old rubber bands and random batteries.

Jake stared at the pile in disbelief. “Why didn’t she ever tell me about these?!”

Just then, Gaby walked in with a smoothie in hand, casually sipping through a straw. She raised an eyebrow when she saw the medals scattered across the counter.

“Ohhh,” she said slowly, trying not to laugh. “You found those.”

Jake turned to her with a look of mock betrayal. “Those? You’ve been out here hoarding awards like you’re the star of your own lifetime movie and didn’t say anything?!”

She shrugged, unbothered. “I forgot they were in there.”

“You forgot you were voted Best Couple… with me?!” he asked, holding the medal up dramatically.

Gaby laughed, setting her smoothie down. “That was from a school thing. We were lowkey winning the popularity contest that month.”

“And the ‘Queen of Everything’ one?” he asked, pointing at it like it was Exhibit A in a case of extreme girlboss energy.

“That one,” she said proudly, “I may or may not have made for myself.”

Jake shook his head, still grinning. “Unbelievable. I’ve been dating a medal hoarder.”

“More like a champion,” she said with a wink. “Don’t be jealous just because I have more titles than an Olympic athlete.”

Jake picked up one of the medals, clipped it around her neck, and laughed. “You know what? You are the queen of everything. Just next time, warn me before I go digging into your Hall of Fame drawer.”

Gaby smiled, holding up her smoothie like a trophy. “Add this moment to the list of awards: ‘Best Reaction to Finding Out His Girlfriend’s a Legend.’”
