Sawakita Eiji’s middle school years, were far from easy, especially considering his extraordinary basketball talent. Despite being an exceptionally skilled player, his middle school life was marred by a deep sense of loneliness and the bullying he faced from his seniors.

Eiji’s prodigious abilities on the basketball court set him apart from his peers, but rather than being celebrated for his skills, he became the target of resentment and jealousy. In his middle school years, his raw talent was viewed as a threat by the older players. This led to bullying and social isolation

The bullying was physical, but above that, emotional and psychological. The seniors would put him down, make him feel inferior, and even exclude him from team activities, all because they couldn’t handle the fact that a younger player was better than them.

This period of loneliness and rejection left a significant impact on Eiji. His skills, which could have made him a respected player, instead became a source of alienation. As he transitioned into high school, Eiji carried with him the scars of his middle school experience—both the loneliness of being misunderstood and the bitterness.
