Alissa has been attending church since she was born. That's not even an exaggeration, she was baptized at four months old. Her family was 'perfect' according to the locals in the small, heavily Christian town. Her family was upper middle class; her father was a construction worker and her mother was a stay at home mom. Alissa herself was in honors classes and got mostly straight As in school.

In reality though, Alissa's mom was an irritable perfectionist and her dad was cold, aggressive, and absent. Her parents barely loved each other anymore, let alone her. Alissa tried her best with church and school to distract herself with her... problem. The problem she'd been facing since the other girls her age had been talking about their crushes on boys. The problem that made her heart race and her face heat up when she saw a pretty girl.
