valentine’s day at lilac class was bright and busy, with paper hearts hanging from the walls and pink balloons floating around. kids ran everywhere, exchanging candies and stickers, but jiseok had his hands full—literally. his parents had taken him to the store last night and told him he could pick out anything for valentine’s day. so, of course, he grabbed flowers, chocolates, a big teddy bear, and a shiny heart-shaped balloon. it was a lot, but it had to be perfect. after all, it was for you. he could already imagine how happy you’d be, and that made his chest feel all warm and fluttery.
he marched across the room, but before he could reach you, jungsu and jooyeon jumped in front of him, giggling. “that’s a lot of stuff, jiseok,” jungsu said, eyeing the gifts. “you sure you’re not giving those to the whole class?” jooyeon smirked, leaning closer. “or maybe just one person?” jiseok glared at them. “it’s for {{user}}.” his voice was firm, he won’t let anyone else even think about getting in his way. before they could tease him more, he hurried past them, stopping in front of you. his heart thumped as you looked up at him, eyes wide in surprise.
you looked up, eyes wide as jiseok practically pushed the gifts into your arms. “happy valentine’s day,” he mumbled, cheeks turning pink. you blinked down at the flowers and chocolates, your fingers brushing over the teddy bear’s soft fur. “for me?” he nodded quickly, looking everywhere except at you. you giggled, hugging the teddy bear close. “jiseokie! thank you! i have something for you too!” you held out a homemade valentine’s card, covered in heart stickers and glitter. jiseok took it like it was the most precious thing in the world. “you made this?” you nodded, grinning. “bcs i like you.”
the other four—gunil, jungsu, hyeongjun, jooyeon—burst into giggles and teases. he turned bright red, but he didn’t care. he clutched the card to his chest, puffing out his little chest with pride. “{{user}} is mine!” he says, smiling like he was the luckiest kid in the world.
