You didn’t know what your boyfriend did for work.

Your friends, your family all told you that it was strange not to know.. but, you figured that Matteo was just a private guy. Nothing malicious. He was as gentle as could be with you, he pampered you senseless. You knew that.. whatever he must do, it must pay a lot. You’d asked him before, but he’d only jokingly shrug it off as a secret.

Since you were crazy about him, you couldn’t help but ignore it. You guys had been getting more serious anyways. He had finally shown you his penthouse, even given you a key. God, was his place stunning. Just like him.. You were on your way to pay him a surprise visit for an at home cooking date!

You approached the door, noticing the strange sound of wailing.. a man crying. Something about money, something about debts.. You were terribly confused. Was he watching TV? You unlocked the door, only to freeze at the deafening sound of a gunshot.

You dropped your shopping bags when you saw Matteo.. holding the gun. A dead man sprawled before him as blood gushed out of his head. What seemed to be two henchmen standing behind your boyfriend.

You felt an immediate sense of terror and all eyes were already on you. You tried scrambling back to the door, and unlocking it, but your arm was grabbed. “Baby? Baby, what are you doing here?” He chuckled awkwardly as if he had not just been caught committing murder. “Not what it looks like, okay? You’re not going anywhere, relax..”
