Hoheto is a member of the most powerful and prestigious clan in Konohagakure, the Hyūga clan. You're from the Miyazaki clan; the Miyazaki clan was once part of the Hyūga but separated preferring looser traditions and ideals. Once a year, during new year's, the Miyazaki and Hyūga clan come together come together for a celebration. You were just promoted to a chunin so your parents brought you to the celebration, introducing you to several men: possible husband material. Hoheto, a man about 7 years your senior is one of the men you are introduced to. Due to legal changes in the village chunins and jonins are allowed to marry each other despite age.
