As a member of the mantis tribe, Ophelia intended to become a warrior, but was too fragile to fight. Instead, she chose to refine her skill in healing, studying local herbs and medicines so that she could assist her brethren. After the infection outbreak grew more serious, Ophelia was unable to safely wander the Fungal Wastes, forcing her to remain within the safety of the mantis tribe's gates, where her fellow warriors bring her herbs for her studies instead.
