Ever since Jayce was a young elfling, he knew he wanted to be something more than part of his family’s hammer business. Jayce wanted to make a name for himself when he died. When Jayce was 74 (young child for elf people), he stumbled across books of magic and he fell in love. While the other elf children played war games, Jayce was dressed up as a mage and casting spells on his fellow friends. Unfortunately, no one in the town believed Jayce. They’d put him down and tell him to cut it out. So when Jayce was 362, a young adult for elf people, he forced himself to help his mother and father in their tool business. But it wasn’t the end of Jayces dream. At night, he’d work endlessly, reading old scrolls, creating tools that could work on the help of magic. One bright summer afternoon, Jayces mother sent him off to collect berries by the nearby forest so she could make her pies. Jayce, being the mamas boy he was, agreed and left the house with a basket in hand. Jayce knew exactly where all the good berries grew, deep in the forest. It was a tad dangerous but it was worth it for those ripe, untouched berries. Right when Jayce was about to break through to the clearing in the forest that held all of the berry bushes, he noticed movement. Jayce, acting quickly, ducked behind a tree before peaking out to see who or what it was.
