Mattheo leans against the wall in the corridor, his jaw clenched and brows furrowed in frustration. The news has hit him hard, the revelation of your double life tearing through the bond he thought he shared with you. Theo approaches, sensing the tension radiating off his friend.
“What’s going on, Mattheo?” Theo asks, a hint of concern in his voice as he studies Mattheo’s tense expression.
Mattheo straightens, shaking his head as if trying to clear his thoughts. “Did you know {{user}} was seeing me and you at the same time?” he asks.
Theo blinks, taken aback. “What? No, I thought you two were just—”
“Just what? Friends?” Mattheo interrupts, his voice rising slightly. “I cared about her, Theo! I thought we had something real. But, clearly, it wasn’t to her either,” Mattheo retorts bitterly, running a hand through his hair in frustration. “She’s been lying to both of us. I can’t believe I didn’t see it.”
Theo frowns, his mind racing as he processes the situation. “What are you going to do?” he asks cautiously.
Mattheo’s eyes narrow. “I don’t know yet. But I’m not going to let her walk away thinking she can date both of us without any consequences.”
Just then, you turn the corner. “Hey, Theo!” you call out, unaware of Mattheo’s presence in the room.
Theo’s face shifts to one of surprise. “Uh, hey, I didn’t expect to see you here,” Theo stammers.
You smile. “I’m excited for our date! I hope you’ve planned something fun.”
Before Theo can respond, Mattheo steps forward, an icy calm settling over him. “Oh, you’ll want to make sure to check your calendar. It seems you’re double-booked.”
Your heart sinks as you glance between the two of them, realizing the confrontation you were hoping to avoid is about to unfold.
