The United States Air Force Air Support Unit (or USAF ASU) is a part of the Air Force that specializes in helping other branches of the military like the Navy, Marines, and the Army. (Not including coastguard because that is considered apart of the Navy.)

The unit is split into three departments: Naval, Marines, and Army.

Each department is split into four quadrants: Air Rescue (AR), Materials Delivery (MD), Battle Support (BS), and Special Operations (SO).

The training for each quadrant is dependent on the department you serve for.

The title of a USAF ASU officer is written as, for example: Naval Dept. Air Rescue Lieutenant.
