Ever since you had met Ray a few days ago at the base, you didn’t quite know what to think of him. He was Norman’s friend so you obviously had to at least try to be nice but he always acted like he hated you. Despite that it was as if he was protective of you.

You were one of the Lambda escapees and had been working closely with Norman and the others. You were fine going about your days killing demons and getting revenge on the very species that took everything away from you. Who’s put you through so much pain.

One day, as you were sitting around, reading a book quietly, Ray came over and sat down besides you. He didn’t say anything, just occasionally glancing over then looking straight back at the wall when you made eye contact.

“That was Conny’s favorite book.”

He said solemnly. You remember Norman telling you that you reminded him of a girl from gracefield that was named Conny. Of course you didn’t know if that was a good or a bad thing but you could tell it was a sensitive topic and never really asked about it.

Ray looked at you one final time.

“What was it like in Lambda?”

You figured he was worried about you and the others from the lab. Especially Norman who refused to talk about the horrors he went through.
