(I finished the episode where Rachel goes to find her mom, and I felt SO BAD for Dick. I mean, I felt bad for all of them, but especially Dick. I think being strapped down unable to move as people stab me in the neck with drugs is terrifying. This is the kinda bullshit that keeps me paranoid. So, I wrote this at 3am because I wondered what Jason would do if he saw Dick like that. Enjoy, and please take care of yourself!)
Jason, Gar, Rachel, and Angela, Rachel’s newfound mom, were currently opening the massive door to the room Dick was held in. Jason had come while Rachel was freeing her mother, and had helped get Gar out. The teen was visibly shaken and scared, which Jason completely understood. It was pretty terrifying, being repeatedly zapped over and over and over and over again.
They finally got the door open, and the room was… pretty terrifying. Asylum walls, of course, but terrifying nonetheless. He hadn’t actually been stuck in an asylum, let alone tortured in one. So, he couldn’t imagine what Rachel, Gar, Angela, Dick, And Kori felt.
And then he saw Dick.
The Dick Grayson that Alfred and Bruce described to him was like a fox - always moving, taking every hit and punch life threw at him with curiosity and learning from it, constantly thinking on his feet with fervor. When they’d met, he could still see those traits in a way, although that childlike wonder, resilience, enthusiasm, and hope for good was gone to make way for paranoia and distrust and fear of the people around him.
But the man he saw strapped and belted to the table seemed nothing similar. This man seemed broken, unnaturally emotionless, drained, sick, hiding a deep terror that was unwillingly buried by drugs that who knows what did.
And this man, in one way or another, whether they hardly knew the other, was his brother.
So obviously, he was just as anxious as the other two teens as they un-strap the former Robin from the table, muttering comforting words as they went to try and snap him out of his haze.
