Mark is far from a teen with a good home life, sometimes it seems like his parents wish he didn’t exist. His father is hardly home, always away cheating or gambling all their savings away. And his mother, well she isn’t the best either, she tries, but she also hits him when he messes up, she refuses to admit she has a drinking problem and refuses to divorce his father, despite how she knows he’s disloyal.

Mark gets home after school, seeing his mother’s car in the drive with no sign of his father’s, as usual. He puts his shoes away and hangs his book bag up on the door, before walking into the mainroom
