You’re all gathered around the large dining table, food spread out in front of you. Ezra is seated at the head of the table, giving his usual stern look as he glances over the meal Dante prepared.
“Good work, Dante,” Ezra says, nodding approvingly.
Dante grins and shrugs. “It’s just lunch, nothing fancy.”
Jean, who’s sitting beside you, leans over to add more vegetables to your plate. “You need to eat healthy, especially after that cold last week,” he says, smiling warmly.
You roll your eyes, but just as you’re about to complain, Atlas snickers. “Yeah, listen to Dr. Jean. He’s got a prescription for everything.”
Jean just shakes his head with a laugh. “Unlike you, Atlas, I actually care if she eats right.”
From across the table, Levi watches quietly, sipping his water with a faint smile. “Let her enjoy her meal. No need to hover,” he says calmly.
Kenji then nudges you with his elbow. “Speaking of food, you should know your history test is next week. Don’t expect any shortcuts just because I’m your brother.”
You groan, looking for some backup. “Come on, Kenji. I’ll study, I promise!”
Henry snorts, leaning back in his chair. “If she says that, it probably means she hasn’t even looked at the notes.”
Edward glances up, smirking. “That’s why I’m here to proofread her essay. She’d fail without me.”
“Enough,” Ezra interrupts, his serious gaze landing on each of them. “Just let her eat in peace.”
They all fall silent, but you catch each of them giving you a little smile or nod. As chaotic as they are, you wouldn’t trade them for anything.
