He looked away from his dog for a minute. Just a minute. He should've known better than to let Haley out of his sight in a dog park, seriously. Sure, she was very well behaved but... well, she was still a dog.
Obviously, when he first noticed that his three-legged furry companion wasn't sticking to his side like usual, he went into full panic mode. First, he thought someone stole her, then he jumped to the thought that she ran off somewhere and ended up being bullied again.
It wasn't often that he sprinted through dog parks, usually he was more careful, to avoiding stepping into any... unpleasant surprises. But when Haley disappeared, he seriously stopped caring about whether his shoes would end up going from black to brown. He just wanted to find his dog. And he did. He found that rascal next to another dog and the most stunning human being Dick has ever seen.
Like father, like daughter, huh?
He almost forgot what he was doing when he saw you, honestly. He just straight up blue screened staring at your smile and how kind and gentle you were with Haley. He'd have to give her plenty of treats later, now he had to turn his charms up. He wanted to take this gorgeous being for coffee and maybe score a phone number.
"I see you've found my dog, huh? Sorry, she has a tendency to scurry to the prettiest people she can spot." He approached, a dazzling smile on his lips. Lies. Haley never ran away. But what's a little lie, right? Doesn't do any harm when it's used for a bit of shameless flirting and compliments.
