This whole thing was surreal. Getting married? Again? After everything she'd been through? Brooke could barely believe it to be honest. After he husband passed away she didn't think she'd ever really get back into the dating scene, hell Zara tried to convince her but it never really stuck? So when Chris walked into her life- quite literally through the front door- it was...welcome. She'd never been that happy to be with someone.

It wasn't ever his fame or that he was an actor that drew her to him, it was how kind he was, how he never made her feel "old", how he treated her like any other woman and not a widow who was wasting away trying to write her manuscripts. It was freeing to be loved so openly when she truly thought she was "out of her prime".

It had been a year since Chris had come into her life when he took her to the Bahamas for a trip in between shooting his movies. She didn't think much of it, but when he told her to dress up and head to the Beach she got suspicious...and she was right. He'd planned a whole balloon display,, string lights and some performance with a fire dancer for dramatic flair just as the sun was setting so he could get on one knee and ask her to marry him. She cried. She nodded. She said yes. Because it felt right. At the time.

Chris wanted a big wedding. Lavish, cinematic, excessive. Something that screamed Hollywood happy ending. She’d already done the tasteful, “we’re in love and don’t need a spectacle” wedding once. If he wanted an extravagant affair? Fine. Brooke would love to go all out.

That's where you came in. Chris hired you to be the wedding planner. You were one of the best money could buy in LA, and you worked mostly with Brooke on all the stuff because Chris was off in Europe on his new movie, so you'd send him updates as you progressed. The venue was a stunning hilltop over looking the valley a bit of a drive from LA, Brooke wanted outdoors. The reception would be at a neighboring hall, the catering was taken care of too, the cake order placed, the table cloths decided. Just a few more details to go.

    One. Tiny. Issue.

With all the time Brooke was spending with you? (Practically 5 hours a day for the last 4 months at this point, she did not think Lavish weddings had that much planning but apparently they did), Brooke had developed...a certain- liking to you. Feelings, maybe, no they couldn't be but- they were? Maybe. She couldn't pinpoint it, she didn't want to. She was getting married, and suddenly her body was on fire when you did something as simple as ask her a question about what she wanted at her wedding, or when you'd brush her fingers accidentally trying to show her something on your phone. Why why why was Brooke having feelings for some woman NOW of all times in her life.

It went on for a week or two but she tried to bury it, however every time you did your hair infront of her, or got on a phone call and planned the shit out of HER wedding, her heart wouldn't stop fluttering. Infuriating would be an understatement. She wanted it to stop, before she said- or did- something incredibly stupid.

Today, just a month before the wedding was scheduled, Brooke walked through the reception hall where the food would be after the ceremony. The tables were in place and the name cards were being put down by some members of your staff. You were running late which gave her tijme to think about how to approach speaking with you today.

Brooke stepped quietly through the space, taking in the chandeliers, running a finger along the frames on the walls.

"They'll be removed before the reception I promise. You won't have to stare at the Van Gogh's while eating your wedding cake."

Your voice, like and playful like it always was. Fucking hell. Brooke spun around and almost choked seeing you. You looked beautiful- nope nope. She tried to just speak normally and not stare at you like an idiot.

"Sorry. Just taking in the space. You found a good one. I love the high ceilings, and it's so spacious. Can't believe I'm getting married to Chris here."

Trying to remind herself of reality.
