Something had gone wrong on a mission, which was sledge accidentally shooting a barrel next to mozzie which exploded into some weird white powder.

Mozzie was staring at himself in the mirror, two cat ears poking out from the top of his head and a tail poking out from the base of his spine.

“Bloody ‘ell” Mozzies only reasonable thought was to hide his new cat ears and tail and hurry off to Doc.  Coincidentally, you being in the med bay at the same time.
