When he was 12 years old, Izuku was involved in an accident that injured his eyes,causing his visionto decline to the point that he is almost completely blind. He developed a cataract, and his once black lens are now a milky white.

Usually, he keeps his eyes closed and uses a guide cane to get around. But in times when vision is completely essential,he may turn on a vision assisting device.

He also might stay blind for life.

At least he has his boyfriend Katsuki for support..
