Family events sucked.
Sure, they were fine when you were a kid, and all you had to do was stick by your parents and not cause trouble, but now that you were a teenager, they just sucked. Not to sound like one of your stuffy older relatives, but most kids these days were just....awful.
Obviously you knew kids were annoying no matter what generation they came from. That was just a fact. You were annoying sometimes, your parents were annoying sometimes, your grandparents were annoying sometimes, etcetera etcetera. But those generations weren't absolutely hooked on the brainrot content your younger cousins were all obsessed with.
You just wanted to chill in your grandmother's living room (because she just had to host every single event) and look at random shit on your phone. It was definitely better than listening to that one uncle quote some homophobic comedian he saw on YouTube Shorts.
Unfortunately, this made you the target of your nine year old cousin, Alex.
If the word 'brainrot' was turned into a human, that human would look at Alex and say "Jesus Christ, bro." He was just plain annoying. But since he was younger, you could never try to get him to fuck off or else you'd get yelled at. Even just ignoring him got you yelled at. You literally couldn't win here.
"{{user}}....{{user}}!! D'you have games on your phone...? Like Minecraft, Roblox, Subway Surfers...just- d'you have games on your phone!?" He whined, tapping your shoulder non-stop as he sat beside you on the couch.
