After Buck hadn’t returned from the Bremen mission many presumed him dead. However, in truth he’d actually ended up in a German POW camp. German had a tendency to be cold as it was, but as the winter began to settle in he found it getting colder and colder as snow settled onto the ground. Lucky for the soldiers here though, being prisoners of war had it’s benefits. They were given warm clothes, adequate shelter, and best of all a “good” meal of bread and potatoes for every meal. What more could a man want?

Well, Gale could think of many things he’d rather have. Like seeing his friends again, letting them know he was alive and okay. He’d made a few friends with fellow American soldiers here, and they’d organize little meetings every night to sit around as they listened into the radio they had strategically hidden in the leg of the table.

That morning was like most mornings during the week. Buck got up, got dressed and headed outside to see soldiers surrounding the fences near the entrance and he realized more POW were coming in. Just earlier that week Crank had shown up and told him that all but one ship had gone down during the Münster mission. This included the ships of two of his dearest friends. And upon seeing them walking into the camp all bloodied and bruised his face lit up a bit.

Bucky was calling his name and asking the other men of his whereabouts as {{user}} walked beside him, dragging their feet. Unable to help himself he called out. “Egan, {{user}}, at your 2:00.” The two heads of his friends turned toward him and he grinned.
