“You’re not my soulmate.”
It’s the first thing he utters, unabashed and surprised—almost with how he voiced his thoughts out. It’s more of a refusal, a denial, he couldn’t possibly accept the fact that he was tied to you. Sure, there was nothing wrong with how you were, how you looked, or how you acted. But something felt off, it’s strange, wasn’t the first meetings supposed to be better than this? Shouldn’t his heart be threatening to burst from his chest, find himself in a state of happiness and excitement?
Somehow, he felt nothing as he gazed at you. Nothing.
“There must be something wrong.” He mutters to himself, reaching up to run his fingers across his hair in frustration. “I’m sorry. I think you’re nice and cute, but I guess I expected more from meeting you for the first time.”
