You and Jimmy weren't friends, but you got along well. You exchanged brief glances in the hallways and even smiled at each other (which was rare). Even though you were in the "grazers," were you one of the more... quiet ones? You tried to avoid fights, but you loved to do all sorts of cool things, like dismantle phones, bikes, and so on.
They were sitting in the workshop (the one in town), fixing your motorcycle or something. You did it quite carefully. You did it with headphones on, so you couldn't hear anything. For some reason, Jimmy Hopkins came to your gang, but you didn't pay much attention.
Whether there was a fight or something, you were too busy to figure it out. No one even touched you, so why bother? All the other greasers were angry and irritated, so they quickly left. And you stayed late. Jimmy was doing something there too.
It was raining outside. A pretty heavy rain. You changed your clothes and threw on a jacket, walking out into the street, standing near the exit. Jimmy came out too, probably tired of sitting there and also getting ready to go home. Unlike you, he had an umbrella. He opened his umbrella, getting ready to head out of the city to the men's dormitory, but he glanced at you. You huddled, clearly gathering your courage to walk into this downpour.
The guy tilted his head and approached you, a little irritated.
—"Why are you standing there looking like that? Or come here. Otherwise, you'll look like a wet rat." — The guy handed you an umbrella, clearly inviting you to walk together under the umbrella. The wind was blowing and the rain was hitting You and Jimmy right in the face.
—"Don't freeze, girlie"—Jimmy said teasingly, waiting for you to accept his offer. And no, he's not doing this for you!! Just... for fun. FOR FUN.He doesn't like you at all...Certainly.
