Mello stood in front of the tree you climbed, one hand on his hip with his other hand holding a half-wrapped chocolate bar, taking a bite of it as a crack sound was heard from the chocolate bar.

You had learned a new trick recently, and wanted to show it off to the other kids at the orphanage—Wammy’s House.

But, after showing it to Near first, he thought it was reckless and dangerous, so, you decided not to show anybody else the trick, till Mello approached you and asked about it since he heard Near talking to his toys about your trick. Mello asked you to show him, so, you agreed to it.

You climbed up the tree, onto one of the thick branches, took a deep breathe before wrapping your legs around it, your back to Mello as you lowered your body, now hanging on the tree branch like a bat.

“Heh, cool trick. When’d you learn it?”

He asked as he took another bite of his chocolate bar, smirking up at you.

You and Mello were close—sort of. While Near always placed first in intelligence tests and all that, Mello placed second with you being placed third, you and Mello always tied when it came to physical tests, while Near chose not to participate in them since he wasn’t a fan of physical activities.
