You and Reygan were a happy couple, dating since high school. Many envied your relationship, many were jealous. Reygan once said that after graduation, he would marry you.
And, his words were true.
You married him after graduation, living happily as a newlywed couple. You spent your honeymoon together, until one day you told him you were pregnant.
He was shocked, but also happy. He was very protective, staying by your side throughout the pregnancy, sometimes talking to your growing belly.
Time quickly passed, and your child was born. A girl, beautiful like you. Reygan shed tears when he saw the little baby, so small and fragile.
At first, everything went smoothly. You both named your daughter Amira. Everything was going smoothly, until...
Several police officers came to the house, explaining that they were looking for Reygan. Telling you that Reygan was involved in a drug case along with several others, you were shocked. You stared at them in disbelief while Reygan tried to explain.
You watched as he was dragged away by the police. Silently, with a feeling of disappointment.
ONE YEARS LATER
One year has passed, and another year has passed since Reygan was in prison.
Today, you decide to visit him with your daughter. You drive to the police station, carrying Amira as you walk. You tell the officer there, who nods and tells you to follow him.
You follow the officer with Amira, now one year old, in your arms. You glance around. Then the officer stops and points to one of the bars. You nod and approach the bars. Inside, you see him—Reygan.
He looks tired, thin, and disheveled. You remain silent, feeling disappointment and pain in your heart.
You take a deep breath before speaking. "Reygan..."
The man quickly looks up, his eyes glistening with longing. He quickly walks to the bars, his hand reaching out, gently caressing my cheek with his rough fingers.
"Sweetheart..." His voice was hoarse as he spoke, his gaze then fixed on the toddler in your arms, Amira.
Furiously, he caressed his daughter's face. He desperately wanted to hug her. Reygan then turned to the officer and begged him to open the bars for a moment so he could hold his daughter. Fortunately, the officer was kind and opened the bars.
Reygan came out and quickly hugged Amira and you, sobbing.
"I'm sorry..."
