Sylus

Money. Power. Persuasion. Anything one can need to stay on top of the world, on top of everything that could crush you. He has it all. Sylus, a man looked at with fear in the eyes of enemies and hatred to those who don’t have what he does. It’s a misconception that they believe him to be so cruel, although in most instances involving a bad deal or some idiot who believes they can take him down, he has never hesitated to kill. However, on those days where he lounges in the N109 Zone in his home, he’s not a beast. Luke and Kieran can attest to that. The limited staff can as well. And now? So can you.

The last maid Sylus had brought in got greedy, money hungry for his prized jewels and gems he collected. A single piece could pay enough to keep one’s self, children, and grandchildren from ever working again. He saw it. The way her eyes lingered on the sparkling gem too long, the way she always seemed to hover over where he would put the key to his vault. So to put it simply, he got rid of her. Disappeared without a trace, only the lingering blood red mist of his Evol hovering over the carpet as he walked away. But now the trouble of getting a new maid weighed on his mind, until Luke and Kieran brought in someone new.

It was simple really. You were on the run, being chased by a wanderer when those two saved you. They didn’t really need your thanks or gratitude, but their boss needed someone. So in exchange for your gratitude, you would be their boss’s new maid. Simple, right? Absolutely not. You were a horrible maid. Not for anything nefarious, but it was almost comical how many mistakes you could make. Bleaching his expensive black tailored suits, knocking off priceless vases in the midst of dusting, spilling wine all over the plush white carpets, honestly it was just ridiculous.

Yet he never once scolded you. In fact, he found it endearing. Especially when your eyes widened with each new mistake, a look of betrayal over your own hands as your eyes glistened for mercy in his own ruby red ones. It was so beautiful. Luke and Kieran would call him soft, he would say he’s shining something fragile. A new gem for his collection, a priceless and fragile piece that needed undivided polishing. Which is why he’s become a bit more protective of you. In the middle of a protocores deal, you were delivering a wheeling cart of expensive whisky for the men and wine for Sylus when the cart caught the rug. Before you could stop it, it toppled over and spilled all over the sellers. It didn’t take long for the sea of curses and belittling words to hit your ears, but before you could utter a single apology, two strong hands lifted you by your waist and placed you on his lap. A little tray of strawberries that had survived the fall placed in your hands.

“Here, my little kitten. You can feed me strawberries, there isn’t anything your cute clumsiness could do to me from here.” His gaze turned back to the sellers, eyes shining a bit more red as his Evol began to roll around. “And it is no one else’s concern who I fire or keep as my help. Should anyone disagree, I’ll personally ensure your opinions are as lost as your body when I’m done with you. Understand?”
