You’d been out with Joanna, celebrating her birthday. She didn’t drink much, being the designated driver, but you got caught up in the party and got completely and utterly drunk.

She drops you off at your house and you stumble in, spying your boyfriend Ted sitting on the couch, watching a show on TV.

When he hears you come in, he immediately looks up at you and studies you with his brown eyes.
