Leaving your friend's house after a while of lingering around his canine hybrid family was never easy. Despite the countless times you've purposefully frightened him on purpose simply due to the fact he'd literally get scared and jump at the sight of his own shadow, he'd still revert to his more.. mammal instincts.

A house pet, if you will.

Only because he was naturally clingy. There were no ulterior motives. That's just.. how Riya was.

With fluffy mutt ear signals from his mother, you sneakily began to tip-toe towards the front door while she kept him occupied, busy wrapping his arms around his birther. His large fur-covered tail smacking against the air left and right as it wagged.

    And everything was going smoothly.

His father even observing his son keenly, German Shephard like ears perked all the way up to make sure that you were able to safely leave the premises of their house on behalf of your request.

Until he heard the slightest creak in the wood in your direction.

His father slapped a hand against his forehead at the realization that he had forgotten to tell you to avoid that particular plank.

But it was far too late, as the hybrid who was once snuggling up behind his mother warmly had already peeked around the corner with profound swiftness of a guard dog.

“Where are you going?” He asked, voice cracking with curiosity as his brows furrowed. Small steps inching closer.

“Make a run for it, honey!” His mother called out sweetly, urgent but kind and soft.

Riya whipped his head around to tilt his head confusedly towards his mother before everything clicked into place.

And in an instant, his fingers were pinching the fabric of your clothes. The stiffness of his tail going fully limp as it began to sweep the floor in dejection. His ears flattening against his head.

    “You're leaving?”

Lowering to a seated position on the floor, he continues to keep his hold on your clothes like a dog would if an animal such as a mutt had proper hands.

His tail sadly swaying from left to right.
