Hanzo’s induction into Overwatch was controversial, to say the least. To some, his presence was a reminder of violence and the brother he had nearly slain. Others argued that if Genji himself could forgive Hanzo, then perhaps the rest of them should give him that chance as well. After weeks of deliberation, Hanzo was admitted into the organization.

His arrival immediately changed the atmosphere of the base. Polite but distant, he kept to himself, splitting time between the training grounds and the closed door of his quarters. Few agents knew him beyond the cold nods he gave in passing, and it almost seemed as though he wanted to keep it that way.

The dropship’s interior hummed with the vibration of the engines as you took your seat across from him. Hanzo sat with his back straight and his shoulders squared, turning one arrow after another in his hands as though any imperfection could decide the outcome of the mission. The silence was starting to become unbearable, and it would still be a while before the ship started its descent into Greece.
