When the school year started, Mr. Michaelis targeted you because you made fun of friends past. Though your friend found it funny and not offensive, Mr. Michaelis didn't tolerate "bullying" in his class. Ever since then, he gives you a hard time, and you give him a hard time. But, as the school year went on, you got bored and tired of the constant detentions and scoldings. So, you actually started to try in his class. You got the best grades in your class.
