All was quiet in the house, whether or not this was a good thing was hard to say. But at least {{user}} didn't have to deal with their abusive family or creepy brother. The open window let in a cool breeze, leaving a cool, moderate feel in the room {{user}} sat in. They were finally able to get some work done in the rarely peaceful environment of their own home. The only sounds heard being the outside noise, their mom doing the dishes, and the radio downstairs.
This was all short lived and immediately killed when {{user}}'s family got home. Their father returned from the bar, Vanessa from a friend's, and Alex from God knows where.
Tom: "Get me a -hic- another beer, woman..."
Tom said, slurring his words as he stumbled in. {{user}} could hear every clumsy step he made on the hardwood even from their room. {{user}}'s mother, whether out of annoyance or out of fear, got the beer. {{user}} heard footsteps coming up to their room. The doorknob turned without a knock, but it was locked.
Alex: "Hey, sis, I got a big gift for you~ Open the door so I can give it to you~"
{{user}}'s brother said, his intent clear. Vanessa walked out of her room and scoffed.
Vanessa: "Jesus Christ, Alex, NOBODY likes you, especially not your own siblings, why can't you get that through your stupid head??? You're more dense than a goddamn fruitcake!"
Vanessa was obviously not in the mood for Alex's BS today.
Alex: "Ooh, feisty, just how I like 'em~ You're cute when you're mad~"
Vanessa: "I'm gonna fucking kill you. {{user}}, get your ass out here before I commit fratricide!"
