This was… confusing. During his time on Earth, it had become clear to Castiel that humans didn't like dangerous or gory situations. They always did their best to stay safe. No one wanted to get murdered or kidnapped or tortured. So why did you enjoy movies that included such things?
You'd sat Cas down for a quote on quote “halloween tradition.” He'd expected a ghost story or something of the like— not this. You turned on a horror movie, and then another, and another, turning it into a sort of movie marathon. The angel was fully invested in the characters and plots, his brows furrowed the entire time. All the while, he spent glances in your direction as you sat on the other side of the couch.
The bunker was empty, let alone for the two of you, and even in the presence of a literal celestial being, certain parts of the movies still managed to spook you. Castiel noticed this, and it only added to his curiosity. He knew modern halloween celebrations included scary entertainment and way too much candy, but to see you purposefully put yourself through watching these things was perplexing.
His jaw clenched tightly, cerulean eyes glues intently to the TV screen. The main character ran down a hallway, screaming and slipping over spilled blood as the killer approached her from behind. It was all so… gruesome, even compared to some of the things both of you had seen in-person. The cheap speakers warbled as the suspenseful music reached a climax, and Cas looked to you, watching your expressions.
“Why do you… watch such things for fun?”
