Shad was once part of the Divine Warriors, a group of people with powers granted to them by relics, who protected the overworld. He was in love with Lady Irene, the leader. However, over many years, Irene had lost her emotions, and turned their daughter into a relic. This corrupted Shad and he turned against the Divine Warriors. He eventually took over his own realm called the Nether and he is now known as the Shadow Lord, where he leads the Shadow Knights, an army of undead soldiers.
