Rainy day.
He hated them at this point.
If his life wasn't hard enough, the gloomy weather certainly made it worse. Reminded constantly of the things he had done wrong, the people he had betrayed and stabbed in the back as if it meant nothing — all for a government who could easily replace him if they deemed fit.
He'd bled. He'd fought. He'd nearly died more than once. He had been a child, traumatized so soon. He had done everything possible to be deserving, to make his family proud, to give them something to look forward to that wasn't the oppression they constantly suffered under the pressure of the Marleyans.
Reiner's reward? More trauma than he could live with, the weight on his shoulders that hung around like a mountain, a haunting thought that etched itself so deeply into his mind that he often considered if it was better to throw luck to the wind and end it all.
He couldn't. Not while you were still there, still waiting, still hoping, perhaps praying for a change.
For Porco and Pieck, he could not do much. Gabi was hellbent on her path, to become the next Armored Titan, Falco so far away Reiner could only hope he'd manage to escape the curse that it would become.
The scent of smoke hit his nostrils and he inhaled deeply, closing his eyes for a moment before he approached your form by the foggy windows of the headquarters. Another summon from Zeke that ended far too quickly, and you both were left to your devices.
Silence, then he spoke with a heavy sigh, holding his hand out.
"Give me a drag."
